Some Malos theory & analysis compilation 2024...

So, I rambled about Malos before on my alt account, it's a mess, but I feel it's worth to post it here.
it just some impromptu analysis & theory after the artbook releases
I feel this rambling might be important for my own essay of Malos/Logos theory (I probably will polish it until I get more material & my dopamine kicking in).
so let's get to the point!

31 March 2024 - Reaction on Artbook reveal

  • Takahashi clarified in the XB3 artbook that he couldn't yet explain why Malos is in N's sword, hinting that Malos may return at some point in the future.
  • In the Trinity Processor, Logos represents the Son (Jesus) in Christian theology. Interestingly, the XB3 artbook was released during Easter day.
  • Jesus's dies on Friday, lying in the tomb on Saturday, and resurrection on Sunday.
  • Malos dies in XB2, the events of XB3 unfolding, and the possibility of his 'return' in XB4.
  • The number 4 (four) holds significant symbolism in Christianity, representing physical and spiritual completeness. It also serves as a reminder of God's creation, where the world was formed in just four days, symbolizing perfect order emerging from chaos.
  • Logos, the only Trinity Processor without a split persona, embodies destruction and chaos, further reflecting the transformative power of divine creation and the balance between order and disorder.
31 March 2024 - Brainstorming on the possibility that Malos/Logos will be relevant in XB4 and how it ties with the Great 3 days of Jesus resurrection

  • Okay, Malos is one of the personas of Logos. In the Christian Holy Trinity, Logos is a title associated with Jesus Christ, so you could say that Malos serves as an allegory for Jesus in Xenoblade .
  • In Takahashi's response in the XB3 artbook, he mentioned that Malos exists within N's sword but couldn't provide an explanation for now as to why Malos could be there despite his apparent 'disappearance.' This could be a hint that Malos might return in some form in a future game.
  • Now, how does the significance of the three days of Jesus's resurrection relate to this? Let me explain: Firstly, Jesus died and sacrificed himself for humanity's sins on Friday. This parallels Malos's fate in XB2, where he dies in the story. One could interpret Malos's motives as aligning with the concept of sacrifice. He assumes the role of a 'villain' seeking to destroy the world and ultimately perishes, bearing the burden of humanity's sins.
  • Secondly, on Saturday, Jesus lay in the tomb and spent time in purgatory, essentially inactive. Similarly, in Xenoblade 3, Malos doesn't actively participate as a character aside from being present within N's sword. He lacks screen time, almost as if he is lying dormant in purgatory. Speaking of purgatory, the world of Aionios can be interpreted as an allegory for purgatory.
  • Finally, Jesus resurrected on Sunday. This brings us into speculative territory. If we consider Takahashi's words, we might find answers in Xenoblade 4. Perhaps we'll see a new version of Malos/Logos or another split persona of Logos a la Pyra/Mythra (Pneuma).
  • XB4 would be the perfect number for him to 'resurrect', as the number 4 holds significant importance in Christianity. It represents both physical and spiritual completeness, as God perfected his creation in just four days.
  • This concept of physical and spiritual completeness could tie directly to Logos. Among the Trinity Processors, Logos is the only one without multiple incarnations or personas, suggesting a sense of incompleteness.
  • I would interpret Malos as representing the 'physical' aspect of Logos. In Xenoblade 4, they could introduce another version of him to embody the 'spiritual' aspect. Similar to how KOS-MOS and T-elos serve as dual representations in Xenosaga. Don't you think?
11 April 2024 - People who say Malos/Logos was dead are giga idiot

  • Now people who say Malos/Logos was dead are giga idiot and certified illiterate fuck.
  • XB2 literally shows you that Aegises can still survive even if their core crystal is cracked, and they can "restore" themselves by copying data to each other. Malos literally had worse damage to his crystal during Torna but still survived, yet people think he's dead because his core mildly cracked.
  • The game literally shows you that the Trinity Processors have multiple safety nets so they can recover their data, and they can't exactly "die" because they're computers and can still "return" in some form. Oh, and let's not forget Malos talking with Pneuma in Aion before she detonates it.
  • Also, in the Xeno series, anything connected with the Conduit/Zohar can still return in some form. The Trinity Processors draw their power from the Conduit and might as well be tied to it in the next game. There's no way they're going to "die" that easily.
  • Like, fucking THINK! XB3 literally tells you that Origin (which might as well be a Zohar Emulator) is founded with Ontos data, one of the Trinity Processors that still has all data from the previous world. This means Ontos has Logos's data, and also, Pneuma isn't dead, chief.
  • It's easy for Logos to be "alive" or to return in the future. Y'all act like it's a surprise or that Takahashi just pulled this out of his ass, when he literally gave you all the groundwork: how the Trinity Processors work and the subtle details firsthand.
  • Like Guys, all the questions you want answered, and the explanation for why A is B, are literally there in the game. They just don't outright say it because it's "show, don't tell." You can't expect them to go, "Oh, A is actually B," because that's not how good writing works!
22 April 2024 - Me being smug that Logos isn't dead
  • I wouldn’t be this smug if Takahashi hadn’t confirmed this, because I had a huge suspicion before the artbook release. After Takahashi’s answer in the artbook literally proved my theory right, I’m allowed to be this smug, because I know these people are the ones who would deny any theory.
  • Like, I’m thinking Logos isn’t fully dead because, remember, this bio-computer is tied to the Conduit, and knowing how the Conduit works, he wouldn’t die easily and might return in some form or a different incarnation.
  • And people called me crazy, but then in XB3 (especially during the first reveal trailer & FR just further fuel this), I started thinking it would be Malos’s blade and was convinced Noah was some kind of incarnation of Logos or that his sword was. I’m half-right about that, and when I saw N’s revelation, I thought, “N’s sword is Malos,” and look who’s laughing now.
  • The reason I’m half-right about Noah is that Logos has been "bonded" with Noah in a different incarnation. So, while the current Noah doesn’t have Logos’s sword, his soul resonates with Logos/Malos, especially with N. Noah fusing with N is proof of that, lol.

22 April 2024 - Aegis Crystal work
  • This one is especially idiotic as hell *insert screenshot of a person saying Malos being alive doesn’t make sense*, lmao. I used to think like this until I replayed older games and learned how Aegises work or how the Aegis core crystals work, to be precise. Then, tying it all together with Origin and Ontos shenanigans, it makes sense why Logos isn’t fully dead, lol.
  • In XB2, they basically show you that Malos can still be alive with half his crystal gone. He can "restore" it just by copying or "stealing" Pneuma’s data. Also, being tied to the Zohar, he’s basically more than just a computer (see Ontos) and can still talk with Pneuma when he’s "gone."
  • Then XB3 introduces Origin, which is based on Ontos data. Ontos is the only processor that has all the data from before the experiment, meaning they may as well have Pneuma’s and Logos’s data too, as evidenced by Logos existing in Aionios. Like, come on, surely you can piece this up.
7 May 2024 - Interpretation that Aionios is serving as Purgatory
  • I also like the interpretation that Aionios serves as purgatory for humanity in both worlds, acting as a way for Ontos to test whether they’re ready for the future or not.
  • Also, thinking what IF both Pneuma and Logos knew about this after they "hit" Alpha and powered up Ouroboros? Like, as if they could see the future. Logos/Malos might have known that N, or "Noah," would destroy the world sooner or later. Perhaps he even knew he would meet Pneuma through N, especially since we know Matthew has Pneuma’s gauntlet, which can give birth to Ouroboros, a power that helps destroy Aionios's imaginary domain.
  • And if this alludes to Xenosaga, perhaps the universe doesn’t have enough time, and Ontos wants to see if humanity will be ready for the future. Maybe there will come a time when the future MC has to decide whether to destroy the universe or the world completely......
  • In the end, Noah did destroy the world, as Logos/Malos predicted, and they fused together. You could say that Noah is an avatar of the Trinity Processor thematically. Fiora wielded the Meyneth Monado (Noah's sword), bestowed by Alvis (Ontos), and Noah’s gauntlet is Pneuma.
11 May 2024 - Some rambling about God The Son/Logos
  • So in Christianity, they believe God the Son took on human flesh and lived among humanity as Jesus. This allowed Him to experience human suffering and show God's love and compassion in a tangible way. Sounds familiar???
  • This is shown in XB2, where Amalthus touches Logos's core crystal, and we see Logos (God the Son) incarnate as Malos. He experiences human suffering through his resonance with Amalthus and his bonding with Jin and Torna & co.
  • And for showing God's love and compassion in a tangible way... you could say Malos tried to show mankind God's love by destroying the world, because he deemed humanity had suffered enough in the world of God. It’s a corrupted way, of course, since Logos was corrupted by Amalthus misanthrophy.
  • “The concept of God the Son is essential to Christian understanding of God's love, sacrifice, and the path to salvation.” Damn, this fits so well with Logos's verse... and perhaps this is the true nature of Logos, that his role is to understand humanity and to love God's creation. He’s willing to sacrifice for the good of mankind and to give salvation to humanity. DAMN... this is some good food for thought for speculating what they might do with Malos in XB4.
11 July 2024 - Logos is more than just represent reason/logic
  • I think the reason why I’m so annoyed that Malos/Logos 'hurr durr he's logical because he represents reason/logic', as most people claim, is because of how shallow and predictable it is. It’s clear in Xenoblade that Logos is more than that.
  • If Logos were truly the most logical entity in the Trinity Processor, I wonder why his Bible verse is related to love and hatred something that an entity representing logic and reason wouldn’t embody, lol.
  • People really take Logos too literally, when in Xenoblade, Logos feels more philosophical. Klaus literally said that their names (the Trinity Processor’s) don’t matter; they only represent the ego of whoever named them.
  • What Klaus said is that the Trinity Processors are more than what their names represent. He urged Malos to see beyond his individual identity.
  • A name is just a label chosen by someone, typically by ourselves or someone else. It represents the conscious self, the "ego" in philosophical terms. The conscious self, in this case, is humanity, who created the Trinity Processor. This ties into the series' themes of existence, purpose, and the nature of reality.
  • Heck, you can see in XB2 that Malos is the most emotional bunch of the Trinity Processors (moreso than Pneuma btw) and this is reflected in his Bible verse too. Also, Logos embodies the Id in the Freudian model, which represents instinct, gratification, and emotions. It’s associated with primal desires and feelings, not pure logic.
  • What I’m saying is that Takahashi is clearly trying to subvert some tropes or roles in the way he uses these terms in his series. It’s clear that the Trinity Processor isn’t meant to literally represent what their 1-to-1 IRL counterparts do, because if they did, he wouldn’t have made Logos the "Id" of the Trinity Processor.

That sums up some of my theory and analysis compilation about Malos this year! I also have some headcanons about him that I’ll try to compile. It took me so long to polish this because the original tweet had so many typos and nonsensical blabbering, lol.
I wonder what theories I’ll have for Malos in 2025... I’ll use this post as a time capsule in case XB4 gets released. It’ll be fun to see how many of them stick—just like with XB3, lol.
reminder to comprehend Xeno plot you need to have deranged mind & giga Noooticer.
