I want to write my headcanon about Sakiko’s media taste. I was thinking—since Sakiko is the one who wrote most of Ave Mujica’s lore, script, and worldbuilding—it makes me wonder if she has experience making her own chuuni OC universe. And doesn’t that technically make Ave Mujica her OC? No wonder she’s so mad at Nyamu for ruining everything, LMAO. #nyamuhate

Jokes aside, I’ve been thinking about Sakiko’s taste in media and fiction. We know she’s definitely into theatrical plays and classic literature, but I wonder if she also reads contemporary literature and follows modern media.

In my headcanon, Sakiko would absolutely be into transgressive media and literature. I can see her reading Edgar Allan Poe, Vladimir Nabokov, Anne Rice, H.P. Lovecraft—basically any gothic or transgressive author.

Something I noticed in Ave Mujica’s “lore” is how it seems inspired by horror, or at least incorporates horror elements. That makes me think if Sakiko is into horror media too—not the Insidious or Final Destination-tier horror, but more psychological and gothic horror.

I genuinely think she’s really into the whole horror genre, especially since it’s reflected in her writing style and Ave Mujica’s overall atmosphere. On top of that, considering Sakiko is still in her chuuni phase, I wouldn’t be surprised if she reads a lot of philosophy and psychological literature. She just gives off the vibe of a teenager who treats Franz Kafka, Carl Jung, and Nietzsche like enlightened beings—I can feel it in my bones.

Since we’re talking about literature, I also think Sakiko would be into movies. There’s no way she isn’t. If she enjoys theater, she’d definitely be into films. And I hate to admit it, but I can totally see her being a fan of Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton, and Francis Ford Coppola. That’s just so on brand for her. She’d totally be into the whole auteur stuff, overanalyzing every movie she watches. You can even see that in Ave Mujica’s play, where there are so many subtle cues—body language, word choices, character demeanor—that feel like they’re hiding a deeper message that only attentive viewers would catch.

As for music, there’s no doubt that Sakiko loves classical music and listens to orchestral music. I can definitely see her being a fan of Yuki Kajiura tbh.

When it comes to anime and manga, I’m not entirely sure. Sakiko doesn’t seem like the type who’s super into animanga or otaku media. She probably reads or watches some, but it’s not her main interest. That said, I can see her enjoying retro or older series like Rozen Maiden, xxxHOLiC, or Evangelion. She’s definitely not a fan of shounen manga, but I could picture her being into seinen manga. And I think child!Sakiko probably watched mahou shoujo anime.

As for games… hmm. I don’t think Sakiko is much of a gamer. Even if she plays games, it’s probably casual stuff, like Animal Crossing, Pokémon, or Stardew Valley. Basically, normie-tier games. I just can’t imagine her being a serious gamer, she’s too much of a bookworm imo.

Anyway, I think Sakiko’s favorite genre is definitely gothic fiction and horror, because it’s heavily reflected in her writing. And she’s definitely into reading psychology and philosophy.
